Excellent fun kids book This is my son's favorite book. He loves to sit down and go through it by himself or have one of us read it to him.
really fun mystery book for my 3 year old son My son thinks this book is hilarious it's his very favorite book to read right now. The story is fun and the illustrations are really great.
Fun Imaginative Great Gift The Sea of Bath Bob Logan's second book is just as excellent as his first. I do not have young children and give both of these books as gifts. This book was also a big hit I gave it with a few bath toys. Sea of Bath along with Rocket Town are on my Great Gifts Options List. It is fun and imaginative. I will definitely be looking out for any future books by this author.
A whale of a tub tale! The Captain is snoozing away on his boat as evidenced by the snoring Z encapsulated in each soap bubble rising from his pipe. As water surrounds the S.S. Rubb A. Dubb he snaps awake eyes opened to perfect circles a wary expression upon his face as if he is familiar with this water ride. Afloat the Captain navigates through a large group of ducks of the yellow rubber variety. He passes a deep sea diver and two brightly colored crocodiles. Experienced bathers will recognize the little hand cranks jutting off each body. The Captain passes by the strangest collection of sea travelers imaginable. An elephant wearing a sailor's cap floats along next to a tipsy plum hippo with brilliantly colored fish and sea creatures of all shapes and sizes bobbing along nearby. As raindrops pelt down and the waves start to rise the Captain secures his cap and readies his craft for stiff weather. He encounters a several ships engaged in a battle friendly water fire only and considers racing a strange little boat named Soap. The Captain's voyage ends as it always does the water mysteriously ebbs away and his ship is left on dry land.I love how Logan takes a mundane activity puts a spin on it and makes it come alive. A large part of that I attribute to his charming illustrations.
Great storytime choice! The Sea of Bath is joining my permanent collection of excellent story time reads. It's bright clear illustrations and spare text make it a natural choice for preschool groups. Every child can identify with bath tub stories and this is a good one both for it's visual impact and it's rather subtle story. This very cute little captain runs across things he just doesn't understand but your story audience certainly will! This strange sea is one where ducks squeak instead of quack and some of his fellow travelers include bubble blowing bears and wind up deep sea divers. Perhaps the best line is when the Captain wonders if the odd little boat named soap wishes to race. At the end the Captain's sea goes down the drain and the reader is asked if they think the Captain will ever learn what sea he sailed? Of course the Captain is now sound asleep at the bottom of the empty tub. Lots of chuckles to be had with this one! Recommended.
